Aguirre insists Liverpool are favorites

Atletico Madrid coach Javier Aguirre believes Liverpool will win their Champions League group, following the matches last night.

Atletico won 2-1 against Marseille and Aguirre is confident they will progress to the next stage of the Champions League

“We played a good first half and scored twice, although we could have had more,” said Aguirre after the match.

“We could have wrapped up the game but our rival put up a good fight and they played some good football as well.

“In the second half, we tried a little bit and our opponents did not give us much space to work with.

“But we got the win in the end and now we have six points and I am very satisfied with that,”

Aguirre added: “Liverpool are the favorites for the group and then us. There are four games left, two at home and two away, so we can’t get complacent.

“We have another big game at the weekend (against Barcelona) where we will again go for the win.”
