Arsenal midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles will leave the club on a permanent basis at the end of the season, according to The Times. It has been reported that the 23-year-old, who can also operate as a full-back, is expected to be gone from the Gunners for good.
Maitland-Niles joined West Bromwich Albion on loan from Arsenal in the January transfer window. The 23-year-old has made seven appearances in the Premier League for the Baggies so far this season, according to WhoScored. Sam Allardyce’s side are second from bottom in the Premier League table at the moment with 18 points fro 29 matches, 10 points behind 17th-placed Newcastle United.
It would make sense for Maitland-Niles to find a new club, as it does not seem that the 23-year-old has a long-term future at Arsenal under manager Mikel Arteta. The 23-year-old wants to play in midfield, and that is a position that the Gunners are well stocked in.
