Ajax and Napoli want Vertonghen

Tottenham Hotspur are not in an ideal position right now. After another loss on the first day 2020, it became once again obvious that Jose Mourinho will not be able to easily make things right. Also, he could lose an important player of his very soon.

According to The Telegraph, Jan Vertonghen’s contract has entered the final six months and he is now able to negotiate with other clubs and the same report suggests both Ajax and Napoli may try and tempt Spurs to cash in on the centre-back rather than wait for the summer to lose the Belgian on a free transfer. This would be very bad news for Spurs who just recently managed to sign a new deal with Toby Alderweireld to tie him down for few more years.

Vertonghen is not there yet and the report suggests that Jose Mourinho is more likely to look to add to his defensive options than sell this winter.
