Portuguese newspaper Record is reporting that Dutch giants Ajax and PSV Eindhoven are locked in the battle for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Zakaria Labyad.
The 20-year-old only joined the Lions from PSV in the summer of 2012, but he has quickly lived to regret that decision.
Labyad found himself frozen out of the first team and has failed to make a single appearance for the club since April.
He is, therefore, widely tipped to leave Estadio Jose Alvalade in the winter transfer window, with a return to Dutch Eredivisie on the cards.
And while his former club PSV are prepared to take him back, their title rivals Ajax are also showing interest in the Moroccan.
Prior to joining Sporting, Labyad had made a total of 45 Eredivisie appearances for the Dutch giants, scoring 8 goals in the process.
Despite playing for Netherlands youth sides, he has switched his allegiance to Morocco, but has yet to earn his first cap at senior level.
