(GSM) – Ajax beat Willem II 0-2 on Wednesday in order to reduce the gap with Eredivisie leaders Twente to just one point.

After Twente lost their away match to AZ a day earlier, Ajax had a perfect opportunity to get themselves back in the title race and did exactly that.

Eredivisie top scorer Luis Suarez scored the opening goal from the penalty spot after just four minutes, and Marko Pantelic doubled the lead just before the hour mark.

PSV lost touch with the top two, being held to a 2-2 draw at Heerenveen. Balazs Dzsudzsak put PSV ahead in the 49th minute but had his goal cancelled out by Gerald Sibon two minutes later.

The visitors restored their lead through Stanislav Manolev in the 62nd minute but this time it was Pawel Wojciechowski to balance things for Heerenveen.

With two games to go, PSV are six points behind Twente and five points behind Ajax.
