Eredivisie giants Ajax have moved to admit their interest in Groningen starlet Richairo Zivkovic.
The 17-year-old has exploded onto the big stage this season and he is widely regarded as one of world’s most talented footballers.
He has already caught the eye of Barcelona, Manchester City and Newcastle, and it appears Groningen face a real battle to keep hold of their prized asset.
Dutch giants Ajax also appear to be keen, with football director Marc Overmars confirming the club’s interest in the talented youngster.
“Zivkovic is an interesting player who we do indeed follow,” Overmars confessed to Voetbal International.
Zivkovic has a contract until June 2016 at Euroborg and it is believed he would prefer to remain in the Netherlands when he leaves his current employers.
The forward has started 5 league games this term, while making another 15 substitute appearances, and has gone to score 5 goals in the process.
Ajax host Red Bull Salzburg in the Europa League Last 32 stage and the Amsterdammers are 10/11 to win the first leg.
