Ajax Amsterdam re-applied pressure on Dutch league leaders AZ Alkmaar with a convincing 3-0 win over NAC Breda on Friday.

Ajax began this match in second place and NAC in third, but on the pitch the two sides weren’t that close as the hosts dominated troughout.

Cvitanich opened the score on 27 minutes and Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez converted a penalty in the 55th. Nine minutes later, Lindgren made it 3-0.

NAC had been down to ten since minute 54th, when Kwakman caused the penalty and picked up a second yellow card in the process.

Ajax now have the same amount of points as AZ, but the latter, who also have a much better goal record have a chance of restoring the gap at Feyenoord on Saturday.
