Ajax defender set for Premier League switch

Dutch media outlet Algemeen Dagblad has suggested that Ajax stopper Niklas Moisander could be moving to English Premier League in the winter.

The 29-year-old has a contract until the end of the season at Amsterdam ArenA, and it is now perfectly clear he will not be signing a contract extension.

Ajax officials didn’t want to meet the player’s demands and are ready to cash in on him in the January transfer window.

Seeing as how the likes of Jairo Riedewald, Nick Viergever and Stefano Denswil can all deputize for the Finland international, the club are not too disappointed to be losing their star player.

According to Algemeen Dagblad, a number of English Premier League sides are showing interest and they will probably jump at the opportunity to sign the highly rated defender on a cut-price deal in January.

Since returning for the second spell at Amsterdam ArenA, Moisander has featured in 61 Eredivisie matches and scored 5 goals in the process.
