Ajax have had a couple of really noisy weeks. After knocking out Real Madrid out of Champions League, selling Frenkie De Jong to Barcelona and confirming Razvan Marin as their latest signing, they are eyeing another player. This time it is Carles Alena from Barcelona.
The Dutch club is interested in signing Barcelona’s youngster, according to Sport. The two clubs have recently signed a partnership which means Barcelona will have the right of first buy on Ajax’s players while the Amsterdammers will be able to sign Barca’s younger players. Carles Alena seems to be fitting that frame.
After talks of Ajax being interested in signing Jean-Clair Todibo, the 21-year old midfielder seems to be a more important target right now. Alena has had some playing time in recent months under Ernesto Valverde, but he could be getting more playing time at Johan Cruyff Arena, especially if Barcelona keep improving their squad this summer.
