Arkadiusz Milik is looking forward to spending next season on loan at Ajax and believes Amsterdam is the ideal place for him to progress.
The striker agreed a season-long loan deal from Bayer Leverkusen last month and the history surrounding the four-time European champions makes Milik believe he made the right choice.
After impressing on loan at Augsburg last season, the 20-year-old has been sent out on loan again but had no hesitation in agreeing to play in the Eredivisie.
“I’ve made three big moves in my career to date − from Gornik Zabrze to Bayer Leverkusen, a loan to Augsburg and now Ajax,” he told UEFA.com.
“The third one was the easiest, the easiest decision to take. Ajax have a great reputation for their work with young players and I would like to take advantage of it.
“Some might say that the Bundesliga is stronger than the Dutch league, but that does not matter to me.
“Ajax are a Champions League club and I am sure it is the ideal place for me.”
Milik is set to work under former Ajax legends Frank De Boer, Dennis Bergkamp and Marc Overmars at the Amsterdam Arena, something he is relishing.
“It is really impressive,” he added. “They all had great careers and I have confidence I will be in very good hands.
“Although I don’t remember all of Bergkamp’s goals, there is no doubt he was a great player and I could learn a lot from him.
“Of course, 99 per cent of it depends on me. I am really excited to work with such legendary players.”
