Eredivisie giants Ajax are readying a fresh assault on former player Rafael van der Vaart, according to Bild.
It is no longer a secret that the Netherlands international will leave Hamburg when his contract expires at the end of the season, but he has yet to make a decision on his future.
And while the 32-year-old hopes to continue playing at the highest level, he has yet to receive a serious offer from a top European club.
His former employers Ajax are well aware of the situation and they have recently rekindled their interest in the highly rated footballer.
The Amsterdammers believe van der Vaart would agree to return to Amsterdam ArenA if he does not receive a lucrative offer from abroad and they are currently in talks with his agent Robert Geerlings.
Van der Vaart is enjoying a second spell with Bundesliga side Hamburg, where he scored 16 goals in 76 Bundesliga appearances since joining from Tottenham.
