Dutch household club Ajax have moved forward in their efforts to sign the Boca Juniors defender Lisandro Magallan.
According to the reports found in TyC Sports, the highly-rated 24-year-old will be leaving the Argentine giants once the Copa Libertadores is over and Ajax want to make sure to remain in pole position for his signature.
The latest information have it that Ajax representatives have already travelled to Buenos Aires this week to try and close the deal for the defender.
Eredivisie runners-up have previously been linked with a move for Magallan during the winter transfer market but are now stepping up their efforts as they are keen to reinforce their squad and mount a more serious league challenge next year.
Lisandro Magallan has enjoyed a highly successful season with his club, making 23 Primera Division appearances this term.
He also notched a pair of Copa Libertadores displays and was in the team for the 1-1 stalemate at Palmeiras earlier in April. The two sides will meet once again on Thursday and Boca Juniors stand at 42/41 betting odds to beat the Brazilian behemoths at home.
