Ajax sign Maximilian Wober

Dutch giants Ajax have announced the signing of Austrian defender Maximilian Wober from Rapid Wien.

The Amsterdammers paid €7.5 million for his services with the centre-back signing a deal until June 2021.

Wober arrives as a replacement for Davinson Sanchez, who was sold to Tottenham for whopping £42 million.

The 19-year-old only has 16 league appearances at senior level to his name, but he, nonetheless, managed to secure a lucrative move to Ajax and also earned his first call-up to the Austria national team.

Wober is predicted a bright future in the game and Amsterdam Arena feels like a perfect setting for the youngster to hone his skills.
