Dutch Eredivisie giants Ajax have announced the signing of Moroccan winger Zakaria Labyad from Utrecht.
The 25-year-old joins in a reported €7 million deal after enjoying the most successful season in his career, signing a four-year contract.
Labyad had come through the youth ranks at PSV Eindhoven, but he surprisingly decided to leave the club for Sporting CP after a breakthrough season.
The talented winger has since struggled for form, but eventually managed to kick-start his career at Utrecht, producing 14 goals and 8 assists in the last Eredivisie campaign.
Labyad now gets a second chance to try and succeed at the biggest stage, arriving at Ajax as a potential replacement for Borussia Dortmund target David Neres.
