Ajax star hints at January exit; Redknapp rules out Taarabt sale

Ajax star hints at January exit

Ajax star Miralem Sulejmani has dropped the biggest hint yet that he plans to leave the club in the January transfer window.

Serbian winger has just over six months left on his deal at Amsterdam ArenA and it is already clear that he won’t be signing a new contract.

That is one of the reasons why he has been rarely used by coach Frank de Boer this season, with everything now suggesting the player will be sold in the winter.

Miralem Sulejmani has now moved to confirm that he is ready to quite the Dutch giants.

“I must now focus on games in the reserves,” Sulejmani told Serbian newspaper Vecernje Novosti. “I have to get game time in order to be fully fit during the winter, when I will get a chance to leave.”

Sulejmani was one of club’s most expensive signings of late, having arrived from Heerenveen for a fee of €16.3 million, and he indeed enjoyed a lot of success at the start of his career at Amsterdam ArenA.

However, numerous injuries and contract dispute prevented him from getting enough playing time this term, as he only made 5 substitute appearances in Dutch Eredivisie.

In total, Sulejmani has made 103 league appearances for Ajax, scoring 29 goals in the process.

Redknapp rules out Taarabt sale

New QPR boss Harry Redknapp is adamant playmaker Adel Taarabt will not be leaving Loftus Road in the foreseeable future.

The experienced manager had sanctioned the Moroccan’s sale to QPR during his time at White Hart Lane, but was keen to point out that there are no problems between the two.

“He’s an amazing talent with the ball, he can still do more without it but there’s no doubt he’s a match winner for us,” Redknapp explained to Daily Mirror.

“He’s the player who can do something special so well be looking to get the best out of him

“I never really wanted to sell him at Tottenham to be honest, I had a good relationship with him, I never had a problem with Adel.”

Queens Park Rangers currently sit at the Premiership rock bottom, six points adrift of safety, but everybody at the club is hoping Harry Redknapp’s arrival can help the team kick-start their season.

Adel Taarabt had a key role to play under previous manager Mark Hughes, scoring 2 goals in 9 Premier League appearances this season.

Fiorentina keen on Haidara

French daily L’Equipe understands that Fiorentina are stepping up their interest in Nancy defender Massadio Haidara.

Vincenzo Montella is eager to sign another left-sided defender who would act as a cover for captain Manuel Pasqual.

According to the French newspaper, Viola have already made a move on Nancy left-back Massadio Haidara.

Nancy’s €8 million valuation of the player was deemed too high by the Italian club, but Fiorentina are expected to return to negotiating table just before the start of the winter transfer window.

With relegation to Ligue 2 almost a certainty for the French club, they may have no option but to cash in on their prized asset in January.

Even so, Nancy are unlikely to settle for anything less than €5 million for the France Under-21 international.

The 19-year-old came through the youth ranks at ASNL and already has 39 Ligue 1 appearances to his name.
