Ajax defender Toby Alderweireld admits he is ready to make the next step in his career and leave Amsterdam ArenA.
Alderweireld, 23, has a year and a half left on his deal with Ajax and is unlikely that he will be signing a contract extension.
With top European clubs lining up for his signature, the Dutch giants are widely tipped to cash in on the player at the end of the season.
While the defender says he is happy in Amsterdam, he claims he is ready to embark on a new challenge.
“Many players want to take a step up and if I do that this summer, Ajax will bring in funds,” Alderweireld told NUSport.
“I am ready for that step up when there is a nice club, but I could also stay for another year. Perhaps there is an offer on the way.”
Alderweireld has spent his entire career at Ajax making 110 Eredivisie appearance for the club and scoring 6 goals.
In the meantime, he has developed into one of the best centre-backs in Dutch top flight and went on to earn 20 Belgium caps.
With the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham closely monitoring his progress, the talented defender looks ready to leave Ajax at the end of the season.
