Ajax step up interest in Eredivisie stars

Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf reports that Ajax are set to make a move on Adam Maher and Marco van Ginkel.

The Amsterdammers are preparing for life without Siem de Jong and Christian Eriksen, and they seem to have already found replacements for the star duo.

AZ Alkmaar midfielder Adam Maher is a long-term target and he has already hinted that a move to Ajax is on the cards.

Meanwhile, the Amsterdammers are also lining up a bid for Vitesse midfielder Marco van Ginkel, who has been a real revelation of the season.

Neither of the two players is going to come on the cheap, but Ajax should have a big transfer kitty for the summer transfer window.

Centre-back Toby Alderweireld is also expected to leave Amsterdam ArenA in the summer, but Ajax’s own Joel Veltman is seen as a decent replacement for the Belgian stopper.

Frank de Boer’s side are on the road to win their third successive Eredivisie title as they sit four points clear at the top with just two games to go.
