Ajax have reportedly reached an agreement to sign Jamaican forward Leon Bailey, according to De Telegraaf.
The player’s representatives have accepted a three-year contract from the Amsterdammers, with only some minor details left to be sorted.
De Telegraaf has suggested that Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Juventus, Manchester United and Standard Liege were all keen, but Bailey ultimately opted to join the Dutch giants.
Bailey is the product of Jamaican club Phoenix All-stars, while he has spent some time on trial with Genk this summer.
He is predicted a bright future in the game and no doubts there will be plenty of first team opportunities for him at Ajax.
Bailey is a pacey attacker who can play in all three positions up front, and he has the potential to develop into a real world-class player.
Ajax Amsterdam have recovered from a slow start to the season and currently sit tied on points with leaders Twente, while they are 6/5 to win fourth successive Eredivisie title.
