Ajax to sign Steven Berghuis from Feyenoord

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Ajax have reached an agreement with Feyenoord over the transfer of Steven Berghuis this summer. The fee Feyenoord will receive is set at €4 million, and once the winger passes his medical, he will sign a four-year contract at the Johan Cruyff Arena and be officially announced as an Ajax player.

The 29-year-old has had many changes of clubs throughout his career so far. He went through the youth setups at WSV Apeldoorn and Go Ahead Eagles, before reaching the first team with FC Twente in 2011. From there, he had a half-season loan spell with VVV-Venlo, and joined AZ Alkmaar on a permanent deal in 2012. Three years later he joined Watford, where he played only a season before being loaned out to Feyenoord.

The deal was made permanent in the summer of 2017, and he went on to make a total of 199 appearances for his current club, scoring 87 goals and creating 64 more.
