Monaco made a big money bid for Ajax’s Kasper Dolberg but, according to a report from AS, the Dutch team turned them down.
The current Ligue 1 champions made an audacious €50 million bid for the Danish forward, who are reportedly trying to find Kylian Mbappé’s replacement should he make an exit from Monaco.
Ajax refusing that amount of money for their rising superstar is not surprising. After losing key defender Davinson Sánchez, who left for Tottenham to the tune of €42 million, CEO Edwin van der Sar promised that no more players were transferring out of Amsterdam Arena.
Previously linked to Arsenal, Real Madrid and Barcelona, the 19-year-old Dolberg is looking to stay put at Ajax after his breakout season.
In his debut year at Amsterdam, the Danish international put up astounding numbers with 23 total goals scored in 50 appearances.
Dolberg lead his team in total goals scored last season and finished in seventh place in the Eredivisie goal tally with 16.
