According to a recent report from Sky Italy, Ajax want at least £67.2 million from Juventus in order to agree to the transfer of Matthijs de Ligt. They are said to have already agreed on personal terms with the Dutch sensation, but there has been no official fee up to this point. Their proposed deal would see de Ligt sign on the dotted line for five years, whereas Paris Saint-Germain are said to have popped up at the eleventh hour as they are more than happy to pay the asking price.
Juventus certainly have the money necessary to fund such a deal, but it doesn’t feel like that is what this is all about. Ajax have held out for a long time now when it comes to selling de Ligt, and it honestly feels as if they’re just waiting for the right team to come along.
Will it be PSG? Only time will tell.
