Ajax have informed Chelsea of their interest in midfielder Marco van Ginkel, De Telegraaf has revealed.
The Amsterdammers are short of options in the centre of the park after Christian Eriksen completed a switch to Tottenham, especially with captain Siem de Jong set to miss next few weeks of action.
Ajax have, therefore, enquired about the possibility of signing Chelsea midfielder Marco van Ginkel on a season-long loan, but they have been informed the Dutch starlet will not be leaving Stamford Bridge.
Van Ginkel made a move to Chelsea this summer following a thoroughly impressive campaign in Dutch Eredivisie, but has so far made just two substitute appearances in the Premier League.
Jose Mourinho, nevertheless, believes the youngster can contribute to team’s cause this season and doesn’t want him to leave the club on loan.
This basically means that Ajax will have to turn their attention elsewhere, with the Amsterdammers reportedly keen on Heracles’ Lerin Duarte.
