Ajax are interested in signing Steven Bergwijn from Tottenham Hotspur in the January transfer window, according to The Times. Bergwijn has struggled for playing time under new Spurs head coach Antonio Conte and could be offloaded when the transfer window opens in January.
Bergwijn moved to Tottenham from PSV Eindhoven for £25 million. Much was expected of the Netherlands international winger when he arrived at Spurs, but he has failed to make a huge impact at the North London club. The Tottenham no. 23 has scored four goals in 42 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
It is hard to see Bergwijn become a success at Tottenham under head coach Conte. It would be best for the 24-year-old to make an initial loan move to Ajax in the Netherlands and then see what happens in the summer of 2022.
