Ajax want Tottenham Hotspur winger Steven Bergwijn

Ajax are interested in signing Steven Bergwijn from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window, according to De Telegraaf’s Kick-Off podcast. It has been reported that the Eredivisie outfit are keen on securing the services of the Netherlands international winger, and believe that Tottenham’s interest in Marcus Thuram of Borussia Monchengladbach could open the door for them.

Bergwijn has been on the books of Tottenham since January 2020 when he joined from PSV. The winger made eight starts and six substitute appearances in the Premier League and played once in the Champions League for Spurs in the second half of the 2019-20 season.

During the 2020-21 season, the 23-year-old made 13 starts and eight substitute appearances in the Premier League for Spurs, scoring one goal and providing three assists in the process, according to WhoScored. Bergwijn also made two starts and six substitute appearances in the Europa League for Tottenham this past season.
