Borussia Dortmund defender Manuel Akanji has revealed that he dreams of one day playing for Manchester United. The 23 year old made the move to Dortmund from Basel at the start of 2018, but ironically enough, it was nearly Old Trafford that he wound up at. He’s stated that right now he’s happy in Germany and wants to do the best he possibly can there, but is still invested in the idea of one day jumping ship to United.
The current state of affairs at United may throw him off for a year or two, but as he prepares to move into the prime of his career, it almost seems obvious to suggest that he will eventually be pulling on the famous red strip.
United have certainly struggled defensively over the last few years and are in desperate need of a general at the back, and perhaps the Swiss defender could provide them with that.
