Al-Ahli have made an offer for the services of Brentford star Ivan Toney, according to Sky Sports. The Premier League side have not accepted it and no agreement has been reached as of yet, but the striker’s future obviously remains extremely uncertain.
Toney was left out of Brentford’s squad for the Premier League opener against Crystal Palace, which the Bees managed to win despite his absence. Asked about the situation after the match, manager Thomas Frank said no deal was close, but he admitted it was a matter of when, rather than if, the England international leaves the club.
The 28-year-old was given extra time off after being a part of England’s squad at this year’s Euros, which also might be one of the reasons for his omission from the matchday squad.
“He’s been a fantastic player for us, but we showed last year especially that we can deal without him,” Frank said.
