Alaba agrees Bayern extension; Pastore rubbishes exit rumours

European champions Bayern Munich and left-back David Alaba have agreed to terms on a three-year contract extension at the Allianz Arena.

European champions Bayern Munich and left-back David Alaba have agreed to terms on a three-year contract extension at the Allianz Arena, according to the club’s official website, Fcbayern.telekom.de.

The deal will keep Alaba, who joined Bayern from Austrian giants FK Austria Wien in 2008, at the club until 30 June 2018.

The Austria international, 21, has established himself as one of the premier young players in Europe over the past two-plus seasons.

Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge as well as the club’s executive board director Jan-Christian Dreesen and perhaps most importantly Alaba himself are absolutely delighted a deal has been signed.

“David has developed magnificently as a player since he came to FC Bayern as a 16-year-old.

“Nowadays he rates as one of the best and most successful full-backs in Europe. We are delighted we can continue to count on him and his efforts for the club,” said Rummenigge.

Dreesen added: “We’re delighted both parties have signed this long-term agreement.

“David is an important component in our team. The contract until 2018 shows we all have a great interest in continuity and our sporting prospects over the years to come.”

“I’ve been here at FC Bayern since 2008. It became my club a long time ago, said Alaba. “I’m delighted everything is settled now and I have the opportunity to play here for this club at least until 2018.”

Alaba, arguably the best left-back in Europe, has bagged three goals and three assists in 21 competitive appearances for the treble winners this term.

Now then, Bayern will travel to the SGL Arena to face Augsburg in the DFB Pokal on Wednesday, 4 December 2013.

Pastore rubbishes exit rumours

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Javier Pastore has rubbished reports linking him with a summer exit from the Parc des Princes, Sky Sports understands.

Pastore, 24, joined PSG from Palermo for a fee in the region of €40 million in 2011, but has failed to live up to the high expectations.

The Argentina international has been the subject of reported interest from English Premier League side Liverpool and Italian Serie A sides AC Milan and A.S. Roma in recent weeks.

However, Pastore has moved to play down the aforementioned speculation, insisting he does not intend to leave Paris anytime soon.

“All these rumours are false and have nothing to do with the reality of the situation,” Pastore told French radio station RMC.

“As I already said, I was the first to choose this club and I will be the last one to leave it.

“I will fight to do well in the PSG. I know there are many players in my role, but I fight for a place without losing my head.”

Pastore is 8/1 to open the scoring at Evian Thonon Gaillard on Wednesday evening.
