According to a recent report from Marca, Barcelona are unable to sign David Alaba due to their finances taking a hit.
The COVID-19 pandemic has hit the world in many different ways and football’s top clubs aren’t exempt from that. Barca have clearly gone through some hardships on and off the pitch in recent months, and now, it appears as if that is going to bleed into their work within the transfer window.
The Austrian star is set to leave Bayern Munich this year after much speculation over his future, but it’s looking increasingly likely that the Nou Camp will not be his next destination.
At the age of just 28, Alaba still has a lot left in the tank at the highest level in European football – and if Barca aren’t able to stump up the cash, you can bet there will be a long line of other teams waiting to pounce.
