Looking to continue to close the gap on Borussia Dortmund at the top of the Bundesliga table, Mönchengladbach will welcome a struggling Hannover side on Sunday.

Starting with the hosts, capitalizing on Bayern Munich’s hiccup at the start of the season, Dieter Hecking’s Mönchengladbach side find themselves in a battle for top spot in the Bundesliga. Picking up a 3-1 win away at Werder Bremen prior to the international break, they have now won their last three on the bounce and will have their sights set on a secure to Champions League football. One man who has epitomized the hosts start to the season has been summer signing Alassane Plea. Scoring a hat-trick against Bremen last time out, the 25-year-old now has seven in his last eight.

As for Andre Breitenreiter’s Hannover side, while the visitors may have picked up a much needed 2-1 win away to Wolfsburg a fortnight ago, it does not cover what has been a very poor start to the season. Losing their three matches prior to their victory over the Greens, Hannover have been drastically short of form on their travels. Still yet to record a win on the road in any competition so far this campaign, Breitenreiter should also be concerned about his sides recent defensive record. Conceding 10 in their last five, they have now failed to record a clean sheet since the end of August.
