Spanish daily newspaper AS understands that Barcelona full-back Jordi Alba is set to be offered a new contract at Camp Nou.
The Spain international developed into an important player for the Catalans shortly after arriving from Valencia and he is now regarded an undisputed starter.
And even though his current deal does not expire until June 2017, Barcelona sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta plans to offer the full-back a new and improved contract.
Taking into account the recent transfer ban, the Catalans cannot afford to lose any key players in the next year or so, and they are dedicated to keeping everyone in the squad happy.
Jordi Alba, 25, has so far made a total of 46 La Liga appearances for Barcelona and scored 2 goals in the process.
The Catalans face tricky tie against Athletic Bilbao at Camp Nou on Saturday afternoon, but they have been made 3/10 favourites for the win.
