Fiorentina midfielder Alberto Aquilani admits he remains undecided on his future as the uncertainty over his stay at Artemio Franchi continues.
The Italy international has less than a year on his current contract and his representatives have been negotiating on a new deal for quite a while now.
However, it would appear as though the two sides are still far away from reaching an agreement, adding fuel to speculation linking Aquilani with a January exit.
The experienced midfielder has moved to suggest he is perfectly happy at Florence, but is unable to commit his future to the club.
“Things are pretty steady. There is no major news,” Aquilani told Sky Sport Italia on Friday.
“Honestly at the moment I am not thinking about it much. The intention is to stay and the President knows that.
“There is dialogue between people who know what they want. We will have to wait.
“Ending my career with Fiorentina? I am considering it, but in football you cannot say these things because everything can change overnight.”
Alberto Aquilani, 30, welcomed the opportunity to return to Italy two years back following a disappointing spell at Anfield, and he went on to develop into a key player for Viola.
The highly rated footballer has made 63 league appearances for Fiorentina and scored 13 goals in the process.
