Aleix Vidal open to AS Roma switch

Barcelona out-of-favour defender Aleix Vidal could change clubs this winter.

Despite getting on the scoresheet in El Clasico against Real Madrid, Vidal is struggling for playing time and is being used sporadically throughout the 2017/18 season.

Knowing that he does not feature in Ernesto Valverde’s long-term plans, Barcelona fullback could move away from Camp Nou when the transfer window opens in January.

Reports in Spain have suggested that a switch to AS Roma is on the cards for the 28-year-old Spanish international, whose agent confirmed the media speculations.

Aleix Vidal’s representative, Ruggero Lacerenza told Tele Radio Stereo that Barcelona defender would love to reunite with Monchi.

“They worked together at Sevilla and had a good professional rapport.”, he said.

Lacerenza went on to add that either a permanent deal or a loan move would do for his agent who is looking to get his career back on track following a largely disappointing stint with the Catalan giants.

In addition to AS Roma, La Liga heavyweights Atletico Madrid have also expressed interest in Aleix Vidal.
