Montreal Impact have announced via their official Twitter account that they have signed Uruguayan midfielder Alejandro Silva.

The 28-year-old has been recruited using Targeted Allocation Money, penning a three-year contract with the club.

Having impressed at Lanus over the last few years, the Uruguayan is expected to make quite an impact in the MLS and he is yet another quality footballer to have joined Remy Garde’s side in recent weeks.

Montreal Impact had earlier signed Saphir Taider and Rod Fanni with Rudy Camacho also expected to join.

Capped 4 time by the Uruguay national team, Alejandro Silva can operate as a central midfielder or right winger, and he managed 6 goals in 37 league outings for Lanus over the last 18 months.
