Aleksandar Mitrovic 7/10 to score anytime against Barnsley in Saturday’s Championship matchup

Competition: Championship

Market: Aleksandar Mitrovic to score anytime

Odds: 7/10 @ 888sport

Marking their return from the international break this weekend, Fulham will welcome Barnsley to Craven Cottage on Saturday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, while Fulham might have lost their Premier League status earlier in the year, the Cottagers are tipped as a standout pick to book an immediate return. Managing to really find their feet under new boss Marco Silva, the west London outfit were last seen heading into the international break enjoying a stellar six-match winning run. Continuing to shine with their displays in the final third, the one-time Everton boss will also be boosted by the fact he has one attacking talisman enjoying his own purple patch. Bagging that stunning last-gasp winner as he helped Serbia book their spot at next year’s World Cup finals, Aleksandar Mitrovic has also taken the Championship by storm so far this season. Remarkably, the former Fulham striker has already racked up 20 second-tier goals since opening the 2021/22 campaign.

As for the visitors, while Fulham might mark their return enjoying a stellar run, the same cannot be said for a downbeat Barnsley side. Although the Reds might have shocked many across the Championship as they landed a play-off spot last season, new boss Markus Schopp knows that he has quite the job on his hands. Last seen earlier in the month getting hit with a sluggish 2-0 defeat against Hull on home soil, fans around Oakwell have remarkably seen their side lose eight of their last nine second-tier contests. With that run heading all the way back to September 18th, the Yorkshire-based outfit are at the heart of a relegation scrap. Opening this weekend’s fixtures already sat four points adrift of safety, it should also be noted that Barnsley have recorded just a single victory since the middle of August.
