Italian striker Alessandro Matri is on the verge of completing a move to West Ham, according to Sky Sports.
The Hammers expressed the desire to recruit the AC Milan footballer on a season-long loan, with the Rossoneri quickly accepting their offer.
And it has now been revealed that the player himself is ready to join the Premier League side, with the deal expected to be completed during the day.
West Ham were desperate to add more quality footballers to their front line and they have now secured the signing of the striker with a decent record in Italian Serie A.
The well-travelled forward has represented no fewer than five clubs in Italy’s elite division, scoring a total of 75 goals in 251 league appearances.
Following the disappointing home loss to newly-promoted AFC Bournemouth, West Ham face Liverpool at Anfield this weekend, with the Reds 4/11 favourites to claim maximum points.
