Brazilian defender Alex is hoping to remain at Parc des Princes, his official representative has revealed.
The 31-year-old will be out of contract in the summer and he is yet to be offered a new deal by the French giants.
This has come as a surprise given that he is still considered a first team regular, especially since the likes of Maxwell, Blaise Matuidi and Thiago Motta have all recently signed contract extensions.
Nevertheless, the player is still hoping he will be offered a new contract at Parc des Princes, as confirmed by his agent.
“We have to start negotiations. There is still nothing concrete, but our proposal is on the table, it is being discussed,” agent Giuliano Bertolucci explained to L’Equipe.
“PSG leaders have reason to be satisfied with him, right? In case of departure, it will be difficult for them to find a player of his calibre. Alex likes PSG. He wants to continue the adventure.”
Alex has managed to prove his worth at Paris Saint-Germain, having arrived from Chelsea, and he has scored 6 goals in 62 Ligue 1 appearances.
The Saints face Bastia away later today in an attempt to further increase their advantage at the top of Ligue 1, with away win paying 3/10.
