La Liga high-flyers Villarreal are keeping close tabs on Maritimo midfielder Alex Soares, reports A Bola.
The Yellow Submarine enjoyed a brilliant start to the season upon returning to La Liga, but it appears coach Marcelino Garcia Toral is looking to add more bodies to the squad in January.
According to A Bola, Maritimo starlet Alex Soares is the latest player to have been linked with a move to El Madrigal.
Having been alerted of the midfielder’s potential, Villarreal had Soares watched on three occasions this season, which is enough to suggest they are seriously thinking about recruiting the talented footballer.
Alex Soares, 22, has made 6 league starts this season, scoring one goal in the process, but it looks as though his promising displays did not go unnoticed.
Villarreal currently sit in fourth place in the La Liga standings, with the El Madrigal outfit 11/10 to achieve a top 4 finish this season.
