Alexander-Arnold has NOT decided on future amid rumours of Real Madrid agreement

A recent report from Spanish outlet Marca has stated that Trent Alexander-Arnold, whose contract with Liverpool expires at the end of the season, has informed his boyhood club of his decision to join Real Madrid as a free agent. However, Liverpool Echo have denied this claim since. The 26-year-old England international still hasn’t made his mind up, and his future remains just as uncertain as it has been since the start of the season.

Alexander-Arnold will be able to speak to clubs outside England over a potential summer transfer from January 1st, and Real will surely look to take advantage of that. Marca’s “report” is widely believed to be a part of their strategy, devised to create friction between the player and his current club.

Another report, namely from The Telegraph, has gone as far as saying Liverpool were actually relaxed over the respective contract situations of Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk, feeling that all three would prefer to stay at Anfield.

However, while Salah and Van Dijk have both admitted as much, Alexander-Arnold has remained silent on the subject so far. There is obviously a chance he joins Real Madrid in the summer, but no decision has been made at this point.
