Fabrizio Romano has reported on Twitter that Alexis Mac Allister will sign his contract with Liverpool today and complete his move from Brighton and Hove Albion.
The Italian journalist has claimed that Liverpool have already triggered the relegation clause of Mac Allister, and that the Argentina international midfielder will complete the move today.
Romano wrote: “Alexis Mac Allister will sign his contract as Liverpool player today, this is the plan. Brighton have been already informed of release clause being triggered. #LFC
“Time for official statement soon.”
Mac Allister made 31 starts and four substitute appearances in the Premier League for Brighton and Hove Albion this past season. The 24-year-old scored 10 goals and gave two assists in those games.
Brighton ended the past season sixth in the Premier League table with 62 points from 38 matches. Meanwhile, Liverpool finished fifth in the standings with 67 points from 38 games.
