Udinese star Alexis Sanchez is on the verge of completing the transfer to Barcelona, according to El Mundo Deportivo.
The Chilean striker is expected to arrive to Barcelona on Monday and sign a long-term contract subject to passing a medical.
The striker, who is on internationally duty with Chile national team, has received permission from coach Claudio Borghi to travel to Barcelona as the national team boss wants the player to resolve his future before the start of Copa America.
Barcelona are reportedly close to reaching an agreement with Udinese after offering €28 million up front plus another €10 million through performance related bonuses.
The two parties are expected to meet later today to finalize the deal, that is unless Manchester City make a last-minute bid for the Chilean.
The diminutive forward has decided to join Barcelona on Thursday, despite receiving more lucrative offers from Manchester United and Manchester City.
