Alexis Sanchez will leave Manchester United and join Inter Milan on a permanent basis this summer, United boss Ole Gunnar Solkskjaer has confirmed.
After a nightmare spell at Old Trafford, the Chilean went to Inter on loan in August last year and made 30 appearances in all competitions for the Nerazzurri this season. Inter CEO Beppe Marotta spoke to Sky Italy a few days ago and revealed that everything has been agreed, and that Sanchez would be signing a three-year contract with the club who are happy with his contribution. Speaking to the press in the aftermath of United’s win over LASK in the Europa League on Wednesday, Solskjaer confirmed everything Marotta had said, and expressed regret that United couldn’t get the best of the forward.
He described Sanchez as a great professional nonetheless, and wished him all the best for his future.
Sanchez is set to receive a payout for cancelling his United contract, the details of which haven’t been disclosed, but Sky Sports claim his remaining wages for the two years left on that contract amount to around £55 million.
