As things stand at the moment, Alexis Sanchez is set to stay at Manchester United this summer, according to The Times.
Often considered one of the worst signings in recent years, the Chilean has thoroughly failed to live up to expectations following his move to Old Trafford from Arsenal in January 2018 which still sees him earning notoriously enormous wages for next to zero on-pitch influence. The forward has scored a meagre five goals in 45 appearances in all competitions over the 18 moths that have passed since the transfer.
A combination of poor form, injury and attitude issues, seems to have completely blighted his career.
The 30-year-old, who scored the winning goal for Chile in their Copa America clash with Ecuador last night, had reportedly been issuing “come and get me” pleas to a number of clubs throughout the season gone. However, despite his efforts, as well as claims that United would listen to offers for his services, there simply hasn’t been any interest, and another season with the Red Devils seems to be on the cards for him.
