Allegri again denies Pato bust-up

AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri insists he wants striker Alexandre Pato to stay at San Siro.

It has recently been claimed that Pato was heading for the exit door at the Giuseppe Meazza after a breakdown in his relationship with Allegri.

However, despite talk of a move to Paris Saint-Germain to link back up with former Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti, Pato is still at San Siro – and that is exactly where Allegri wants the striker to remain.

“There was no problem between me and Pato and if there was, it has been resolved,” Allegri told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I think he will stay at Milan. I want him to stay at Milan. I think it could be an important purchase in January saw the first part of season has just played.”

Meanwhile, Milan CEO Adriano Galliani claimed on Saturday he has reached an agreement with Carlos Tevez over the Argentine’s proposed January move to San Siro and that the club is now waiting to hear back from his employers, Manchester City.

However, on the eve of his side’s Serie A clash with Atalanta, Allegri insisted he was not in a position to provide any extra details on Milan’s pursuit of the controversial forward.

“I heard from Galliani, but we talked about the team and not the market,” he said.

“I do not know if Tevez will come. Although there would be a problem if he did come as he has not played for two months.”

“But for now we must stay focused on the resumption of the league (after the winter break), which will be difficult against a team dangerous as Atalanta.”

Milan currently head the Serie A standings on goal difference, just in front of Juventus, who are away to Lecce on Sunday.
