AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri has warned his side not to underestimate a wounded Juventus when the two meet at the Stadio Olimpico.
Milan travel to Turin on Saturday in the midst of a 10-game unbeaten run in the Serie A, but with their position at the top of the table under serious threat from rivals Inter Milan.
Allegri’s side lead Inter by just five points, and a loss to Juve could throw the title race wide open given Inter have winnable games against Genoa, Brescia and Lecce in the coming weeks.
Juventus on the otherhand have been in poor form of late, losing four of their past six league games to slump to seventh on the table.
But Allegri refuses to underestimate Luigi Delneri’s side, and is predicting a difficult encounter at the Stadio Olimpico.
“There are 11 matches until the end of the championship and therefore each match is very important,” Allegri said.
“Tomorrow’s match has a great value for both teams; for us in view of the possibility to win the championship and for them in order to get closer to the positions for qualification to the Champions League.”
“Juventus are a physical team and have good technical skills. They can create difficulties especially on set-pieces.”
“They shouldn’t be underestimated because they have made a good performance against Inter Milan and have won.”
“They’re undergoing a difficult moment and therefore they’ll surely be making a great performance tomorrow. We should be able to compete at the same level and we’ll surely do so.”
“We’re doing quite well right now. Our objective is to achieve a good result in Turin and we’ll do our best to make it.”
