Allegri favourite to head up Juventus

(GSM) – Cagliari coach Massimiliano Allegri has overtaken Cesare Prandelli as the favourite to lead Juventus this summer.

All the signs point to Prandelli after he refused to be drawn on his future at the weekend despite Diego Della Valle asking him to come clean with the fans.

However, Tuttosport understands that Allegri is more than just a dark horse, citing sources close to Juventus who believe a deal is near.

Italy boss Marcello Lippi, who enjoyed two legendary stints at Juventus, has also reportedly given his backing to Allegri’s candidacy, although he also recommended Ciro Ferrara in the summer.

Both clubs have firmly rejected claims that they have come to some sort of arrangement, but Tuttosport believes that such denials are merely a smokescreen designed to protect the players at a difficult stage of the season.

Allegri is likely to be hot property in the summer.

Should the Bianconeri hire Prandelli then Allegri would naturally become the favourite for the Fiorentina job.
