AC Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri was furious with his side after they threw away a two-goal lead in the Champions League on Tuesday.
Allegri watched on as Viktoria Plzen scored twice in the last five minutes to claim a 2-2 draw in Group H action in Prague.
Strikes to Alexandre Pato and Robinho just after half-time had Milan cruising, but they let their guard slip in the closing stages and it proved costly.
“There is anger rather than bitterness (at the result),” Allegri told Sky Sports Italia.
“We had opportunities to grab a third goal, but then we paid for our confusion towards the end.”
“We took a 2-0 lead but our players were not focused enough toward the end, which opened the way for Plzen to come back. That made me really angry.”
“In football you have to play until the 95th minute, because the game can backfire on you at any time. Surely next time we will not repeat this mistake.”
Allegri refused to answer questions regarding the future of want-away Manchester City forward Carlos Tevez, who has been linked with a move to Milan.
Instead Allegri offered the fact he was disappointed about the match again, despite Milan’s progression to the last 16.
