According to a recent report from Bild, Massimiliano Allegri could wind up taking charge at Bayern Munich after all after talks broke down between Bayern and Arsene Wenger, one of the other leading contenders.
Wenger was said to have actively offered his managerial services to Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, but in the end, he was informed that the club would not be going forward with the talks.
Whether or not Allegri gets the job remains to be seen, but it certainly feels like the former Juventus boss is ready and willing to dive head first back into the chaos of football management once again.
Even if he doesn’t, Bayern seem to have a parade of options out there for them, with one of the other notable candidates being Jose Mourinho.
While he may be a divisive figure the Portuguese boss certainly knows how to win trophies, although the same could be said for Allegri.
