AC Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri insisted his side should have won their match with Sampdoria on Saturday that ended in a 1-1 draw.
Milan could have gone six points clear at the top of Serie A if they had won, but instead hold a four-point buffer over Lazio, who play on Sunday.
“They did well and we deserved to win the game,” Allegri told Sky Sports Italia. “We deserved more.”
“I am very happy with the way Robinho played. My team played a very good game.”
After controlling the action in the opening half, Milan went into the break just one goal up thanks to a great volley from Brazilian striker Robinho, but Sampdoria responded with an equaliser from Giampaolo Pazzini.
Milan had numerous chances to secure the three points, but despite having nine shots on target and controlling possession for 63 percent of the game, Sampdoria held on for a share of the spoils.
Allegri, 43, said he was extremely happy with his team’s performance but said the only thing missing was a deserved three points.
