Allegri signs new Cagliari deal

Massimiliano Allegri has extended his contract with Cagliari until June 2011.

Allegri has been linked with a potential switch to AC Milan in recent weeks, but the highly rated coach has instead signed a new deal until June 30 2011 with Cagliari.

“Six months ago Allegri signed a blank contract with Cagliari, it was a handshake deal he took with the club,” read President Massimo Cellino’s statement.

“This week we made official a two-year contract based on planning for the future of this team. We are proud and honoured by the attention given to our Coach by big clubs, but we confirm Allegri will remain on the Rossoblu bench until June 30 2011.”
