AC Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri was delighted with his side’s 3-0 victory against Brescia on Saturday.
First-half goals to Kevin Prince-Boateng, Robinho and Zlatan Ibrahimovic inspired the victory which re-instated Milan’s three-point gap at the top of the Serie A.
The win also saw Milan kick nine points clear of third-placed Juventus.
Allegri was full of praise for his side after yet another dominant display.
“It was an important display tonight,” Allegri told Sky Sports after the match.
“The whole squad is coming together nicely and are all showing great dedication to the cause. Everyone wants to do well and the results are coming as a consequence.”
“The most important thing was winning and we did that with a professional performance. We weren’t concerned about the standing and will continue to think solely about our duty as we look to remain top in the coming weeks.”
Despite their superb start to the season, Allegri is remaining level-headed in regards to his side’s title hopes.
“It is a very competitive championship this season and for sure with 33 points we won’t win much. There is still much work to do and we must continue on this path without worrying about our rivals,” he said.
Brescia manager Beppe Iachini was understandably disappointed, as his side remained in the relegation zone.
“We knew it would be a difficult game tonight,” Iachini said.
“Against a team of Milan’s calibre you have to be perfect to come away with something. We were far from that this evening and as a consequence we leave on the back end of a heavy defeat.”
Iachini is hopeful his side can emerge from the bottom three and recognises the need for the group to stick together.
“The group must remain united as we have produced some good performances this term. Obviously we need to work on making fewer errors because at this level they often cost you dear,” he said.
